spring creek?

Hey all!

I'm going out for my first fishing trip in my kayak today around 11am at spring creek.
I haven't been out in weeks and haven't been to spring creek in years! Anyone have any advice? I know the water temps are cool and that the fish may be hanging around the springs... but are their still fish up shallow? In creeks...oysterbars?
Hey I will drown a shrimp in 15ft of water just like the next guy... but I sure prefer throwing an artificial in skinny water....esp since I'm testing the new yak!

Sounds like a good plan. The reds have been shallow but have not heard much about trout there. Mostly creeks.

Ill prolly start shallow and fall back to deep and then maybe back to shallow later in the day when it warms up. Depending on the tide of course. Checking the sat map of the place ~looks like there's a large connecting creek to the north of the launch heading west that looks interesting.
Going with a friend that is also taking his kayak out for the first trip so the paddling will do us good. Lol!

If you're putting in behind the restaurant, go south for a bit past the "no wake" signs, on your left is Stewart's Cove, there are three springs in there and some real nice shallows, will also keep you away from most boat traffic.

Sorry gumbo....didn't get your message till we were already fishing. We went to the bay to the west...not sure what its called. Part of oyster bay I guess. Anyways...fished the oyster bars on the incoming tide. Partner had two or three nice sheepies and a keeper red. I got a short trout and a red around 20in. All fish were caught on shrimp on the bottom, on the side of the bar that the tide was pushing into. Couldn't catch a cold doing anything else.
Really enjoyed my first trip out in my tarpon 140! Handled like a dream.
