Iamonia is down- but I could not believe how low!

This area is for general discussions about fishing, rigging, baits, etc.

Wow. I've never been there but it obvious how low it is. It looks as low as if it's almost like fishing in a barrel. Perhaps I should go there and pull up a chair with a Miller in one hand and a pole in the other.

Robbing the fish blind!! I remember when this happened out a lake cascade last year...
If people focused on the important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles.

All we need is some more rain, get The Ochlockonee River up around the "Action Stage" for a few days and it will fill back up in no time.....

Wow. One of my clients was headed that way last week. Said the fish were biting well and all you had to do was drive up and find a spot to fish off the "beach". Had no idea.

Also imagine the gators are pretty concentrated now too. Last time I shined the ramp at semi normal levels, I counted 23 sets of gator eyes where it is now sand.

Hey Bman, when I saw your name over on UWF, I did not make the connection. I am g8rvet over there. Nice to see more NWF hunters joining that site.

Cool- I've recruited four new members up here... sounds like we doubled the total!
Not for what they are pressing at Iamona but they do good stuff elsewhere

Are there no ordinances or rules against driving on the lake bottom, akin to the sign posted on Lake Jackson?

For those who may be curious.
Sec. 12-7. - Prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles on exposed lake bottoms.

(a)
It is unlawful for any person to operate an automobile, motorcycle, dune buggy, golf cart, riding lawnmower, or other road motorized or track vehicles within any portion of an exposed lake bottom, except for lakes in private ownership, as a result of a natural or artificial draw down, except as follows:
Entry shall be allowed where associated with bona fide public uses, such as agency research, law enforcement, and approved lake restoration and management activities. Nothing contained herein shall prohibit pedestrian access or entry where otherwise permitted by law; and further, that such prohibition shall not apply between sunrise and sunset on all other public lakes with the exception of Lake Jackson; where the prohibitions shall apply 24 hours a day.

(Ord. No. 00-09, § I, 2-22-00; Ord. No. 00-37, § I, 9-19-00
Editor's note— Ord. No. 00-09, § I, adopted Feb. 22, 2000, set out provisions pertaining to prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles on exposed lake bottoms. To maintain the numeric sequencing of this Code, said provisions have been included as § 12-7 at the discretion of the editor to read as herein set out. See the Code Comparative Table.
