Might not be a bad thing for her to learn a manual.
I heard a report that new military vehicles are all auto trans because there are not enough recruits that know how to drive a manual.

My girl is taking college courses as a freshman in HS I don't foresee the military in her future

The military thing was just an aside, referring to our culture in general. By the way, what is wrong with West Point? Annapolis? Colorado Springs?.....just sayin....

She is in the Medical Academy in HS and plans to be a doctor

From the looks of it. I would say that it has drum, not disk brakes, no air bags, to much power and MOST OF ALL, TO WIDE OF A SEAT
