I'm cursed, I'll never catch a fish for the rest of the day... 
. However this so called curse was quickly dismissed when I hooked up with a nice 25" redfish. My dad, befuddled quickly exchanged baits to what I was throwing and was still having no luck at all (Not holding his mouth right I presume... 
). After another nice slot red and a couple trout we moved to another bar where he "broke the skunk" with a nice trout. Having to leave to go to a party for a close family friend, we struck out about 12:00 and headed back. At the end of the day I wish I would have signed up for the tourney but most likely the day would have had a completely different outcome
. On a brighter note however, we were stopped by the FWC and had to undergo a safety check. The officer was quite polite and comical and did not make a big fuss about anything. He even thought my dad and I were brothers!!! 
(which seems impossibe with me being 19 and my dad 49) And with that comment my dad smiled and said "I like this guy" and I said, "Gee I wonder why....". 
All in all great first trip of the season and looking forward to many more and maybe a few tournaments while I'm at it!
