Weather radio 2/22/12

Post by onefishtwofish »

The weather radio blared the with an alert for heavy rain, 60mph winds and large hail and it was headed our way. We had gotten a late start and were just starting to catch fish when the alert came over. I checked my iphone and sure enough there was a decent cell headed towards us. We skedaddled in and warned a couple of guys fishing in the river that there was some bad weather coming. They loaded up right behind us. We only got a few rain drops before the bottom fell out. It was odd as it had just stayed grey all day and we did not see it coming, the wind did not pick up either until it was passing over our heads. Still managed 2 keeper trout, one keeper red and one very nice flounder. In less than 2 hours on artificials.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?
