Can I break in here? Florida has a "lost and found statute" that allows for you to recover found property after going through the hoops. Call the SO and make them comply with the lost and found statute:

If they're saying they returned the property - get a copy of the report. If they're holding on to it - make sure the dictates of the lost and found statute are established and followed.
