Alligator Harbor
I went to Alligator Harbor this weekend to fish around the point. I put in at the ramp at sun n sands and headed out during low tide. Besides the oyster bars that google maps show, is there any reason I wouldnt be able to plain through to the channel by the marina in my 16 foot skiff with a 40hp? I was cautious because it was my first time taking the route in my new boat so I just put the tilt up and went pretty slow (my depth finder is not currently working) but we did check the depth with the paddle from time to time and it seemed to be about 4 ' deep for the most part, which would be fine for my boat. Thanks

I'm not sure I understand the question, the channel is well marked by the marina. Stay in the channel and you will have no problems. It does get shallow on the north side of the channel near the marina, but gets deeper as you head out. The bars in the east end Of the harbor need to be be watched and the two more in the middle(easy to see on google maps) need to be watched. My GPS says there are submerged objects in the se end but I've never hit any(yet). If you put in at the public ramp on the point ( not sun and sand) you can follow the docks to the channel and be fine. Hope this helps, if not ask away.

Thank you, that does help. Hopefully I will get my gps fixed this weekend. I heard there was not a place to park your trailer on the public ramp on the point, is this true?

Re: Alligator Harbor
That is true. Not impossible, but difficult to find a parking spot.
