Sorry folks for the inconvience of having to cancel the tournament at the last minute. I, for one, wanted to fish as did several other anglers but there were those who did not. I was advised that for legal reasons the tournament should be cancelled. I have re-read the tournament rules on the NFGFC website and did not see anywhere in the rules where it said that NOAA's small craft advisory should cancel the tournament. In my opinion, this is good because at least half of NOAA's forecast are BS.
That being said, I spoke with an individual on the Advisory board, that had a good idea. We should implement postponing a tournament with questionable weather conditions till 9am or till questionable weather subsides/worsens (whichever comes first). The NFGFC club officers/board members will discuss this issue in more detail soon and see about adopting this to our rules.
I know we can't make all members happy all the time but whatever decisions are made by the club officals should be respected by all. NFGFC is a great organization with a lot of great members that wanna fish competitively and have fun.
Thanks for your understanding, Rick

Re: Cancelled Rock Landing Tournament
It was the right call Rick. We went out after breakfast and it was very rough out there. Very little water and the bite wasn't happening. We left after about an hour and a half.

Yea,what Chill-N-Grill said! The only thing missing was naming the storm and seeing how long till the eye passed! Be safe!
Re: Cancelled Rock Landing Tournament
Should have postponed it 6 hours. We got a stringer of 19 3/4"ers in the evening.
