Whats goin on everybody. Been lookin to get a used Mitzi or something similar for a while now and after a couple years of saving up and a few heartbreaking deals falling through, one finally went my way. Big shoutout to Forum member "Bailey" for seeking me out after seeing my post on Microskiff. He had a gorgeous boat with everything I wanted and we were able to sort things out to keep the boat local and hopefully the new owner and former owner will get a few trips fishin together. My Dad and I went to see the boat Friday and everything looked great. Everything went as expected and we were able to acquire the boat. From there, we headed straight to the lighthouse to get her wet for the first time. First trip went great, I'm in love with the boat. We only had a couple hours to fish and mainly were just testing the boat out, but my Dad did manage a nice 23 inch trout. Hoping that this boat will allow me to expand my horizons and get my Dad hooked on sight fishing. Haven't ever poled around over here, just out in Pensacola and further west so I will be doing some exploring to try to find some places to sight fish. Gonna post a picture of the fish and some pictures of my new ride. Everyone look for me in a new, shiny skiff. Tight lines!
Congrats, Luc. Remember my first skiff well. It's always exciting.
Lots of good sight-fishing opportunities all along the Forgotten Coast. You'll be able to get skinny with the Mitzi, so go slow and start exploring. Your advantage is the ability to ease into areas with little water before others using the push pole and a stealthy approach.
