Nice ditch bag fairly cheap

Post by Rhettley »

I saw this link on The Hull Truth. Seems like a good ditch bag about half what comparable bags cost plus $6.99 weekend shipping special rate. There are 3 pages of comments on folks who ordered it and not one bad comment so I guess it's a good product.
I haven't decided to order one or use the el cheapo soft sided cooler bag from Dollar General yet. It would probably be a good idea to get this thing and actually mount it under the console where it would be in very easy reach.

That there ASAP marine ditch bag ($20) looks comparable to the one offered by ARC available through Amazon for $45 (reduced from $69).
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

I use a roll-down top dry bag (cylindrical float bag). They are inexpensive, made of waterproof PVC and don't have any zippers to corrode. When you need it you just unsnap the plastic buckle and unroll it. You won't have to fight with a frozen corroded zipper when you are bobbing in heavy seas. They come in a lot of different sizes so you can find one to fit the space you have on deck. My bag is always on deck where it can be grabbed instantly in an emergency. It has all my survival equipment in it so I want it close at hand not in a storage space that I can't get to easily when the boat is going down.
