Pin fish fishin'

Post by slowroller »

A buddy who helped get me addicted to salt fishin told me he almost always had a live pin swimming behind the boat. I have started doing the same. Me, river runner and another buddy caught fish all day Fri. but the highlight was a 48" king that took my pin and was headin for Taylor county. Couple of run downs and a little fighting and he was in the boat. Last thing I expected to catch in 8-10 foot of water between St.Marks and Aucilla.

Good looking fish and that's an accomplishment in that shallow water, congrats!!

Good times! I should have taken the photo in the opposite direction to show how close we were to the lighthouse.... It sure was fun, I'm ready to go again.

Love it.. If we have room I always do the same. You pick up a lot of sharks but sometimes there is a surprise on the end of the line!
I use a circle hook and short wire leader under an adjustable popping cork.
