Reports from Econfina, Lanark, and St. Joe

Post by MuleTrainGA »

Over these past 3 weeks I've had the privilege to get out on the water ALOT. Every place I've been to there have been fish and plenty of them. We'll start at econfina where the fish are everywhere from 2' in the mornin to 8' feet of water in the afternoon. I went three times in the last 2 weeks and didnt have trouble finding fish at all.

Haven't got the pictures of the camera yet but caught some nice fish a 20" and 26 1/2" trout and some good slot reds all the way up to 26 3/4". Went yesterday and caught 8 keeper trout and 2 BSBs. Lost about 3 keeper trout at the boat but thats how it goes.

Next is Lanark. Went out last week and caught the fish all along the lanark reef. Ended with 10 trout a spanish and 2 slot reds. Caught most of the fish on topwater and gulp in about 4-6' of water.

These are the two reds.

Now to the best. I fished St. Joe bay last friday with great success. All trout were from 17" to 27" But, being that I have a tournament there in a week I won't give up any lures/depth or anything else. We ended the day with 10 trout 2 reds and 4 flounder but caught plenty of keeper trout.

The highlight fish of the trip. A 27" 6lb monster.

The other big fish a 22" trout on the 3rd cast of the day.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
