An 8 pound red is a nice one. Never caught a legal 8 pounder. Been close, but not quite.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?

Or keep trying finger mullet.
Re: Rock the Dock Results HERE
I'm getting old and my memory is failing, but I think there were 2 reds over 8#s that won the redfish side-pot in NFGFC tournies last year. One of them came from my boat and it ate a replica mullet.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Re: Rock the Dock Results HERE
I confess that I used the real thing.
Doubt I'll ever get a legal one that heavy again. It tapered so quickly from dorsal fin to tail that the back end looked more like a largemouth bass shape. I actually thought it was 27 and 1/8 inches, based on my own crusty tape measure. Brought in a backup 26" red with the biggun, and requested a courtesy measure. The weighmaster ruled 27 flat. Can't ask for more courtesy than that!

I probably caught some close on finger mullet, but we were so busy catching, we were not even thinking about weighing them.
You must not have fished that one JT, I saw Gary's name at the top, but not yours.
