Left the house at 6:30 am worried the weather but since I took vacation this week I am committed to making a few trips to the river.. Wanted to target some catfish to get some fillets for the kids when we have our next fish fry. at 11:00am the wind was blowing so we decided and give up on the cats after only catching two small kitties. We ran up the river to look for some bream to help save the day. it was looking bleak maybe one or two small bream. fished the brush line on the river decided what the heck lets cross the river it cant get any worse i thought I saw a big bream close to the bank and tossed a cricked to it and it turned out to be a stump but it was a stump in 7 ft of water that held about 29 decent sized bream including a few that were the size of my hand ...I am 6-6 and 290 lbs and have rather large hands ...it was all over in a hour, totally shut down nothing else, nada. zip which was fine because my buddy had to pick up his kids at 3 so i had to clean the fish myself.. it was a good day on my little slice of heaven the Flint River ..
Watch out for the one who brings a spoon to a knife fight..he is either really stupid or really good with a spoon. <')))><
Nice mess a fish next time, fish for the bream first and keep several of the smaller ones for catfish bait but make sure you got a rig that can handle big catfish
