Not knowing the regs or table-fare, tossed it back.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
Atlantic Spadefish. Most say they are good to eat. I've never tried one. I didn't see a size limit on the chart, but that would have to be a keeper because that's a big one. Good catch!
"O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you." Psalm 84:12
well next time I'll keep one and give'r a shot on the table.
Definitely a fun fish to reel in!

Might as well give it a try, once. I did, and I found it awful. Release them, IMO. Almost anything I catch is way better, including grunts. The taste and appearance of the meat is about equal to pinfish, which I also tried long ago when my son caught one as "first fish".
