Boat Stains!!!

I know the poor Ol' Wahoo is getting some age on her but there was a time not too awful long ago that she looked a good bit better/cleaner. Got new stains after every trip now,not so much the water line stain that I wanna clean up is all the dang coffee-colored stains INSIDE the hull!! Tips and/or advice please.... Gel coats been gone forever,just want it WHITE again.

I use a household cleaner called The Works. Can buy it at Walmart for about 1.20. Need to wax after use.

Sno Bol toilet cleaner...wipe your boat down with the stuff, let it sit for a few minutes, then wash it off.

Better wax after snow bowl. It will strip off your wax and stain worse every time out.

Try Starbrite Deck Cleaner with PTEF (or similar product with PTEF). May have to spot treat stubborn stains first but if you use the PTEF stuff all the time, it works to keep the stains away. No wax needed on the inside using this type product. The stains may be from sunscreen you are using. Some cause brown stains on fiberglass and vinyl. Hard to remove with cleaners.

I don't have much experience with it, but I've always heard you are not supposed to use anything that was not designed specifically for a boat. Some household cleaners can strip wax or damage gelcoats and vinyl upholstery.

I agree with Demon...Starbrite is what I use, and I get compliments all the time for how white my deck and gunnels are. I also use the Magic Clean Erasers, for tough spots.

Starbrite slime and grime stain remover work well for me, just spray it on and stains disappear.

We've had very good results with Roll-Off. I highly recommend it. Can be hard to locate sometimes.

I don't use Sno-Bol because of the hydrachloric acid....it's bad stuff. I use a fiberglass brightner that has to be ordered. No one locally carries it

I use plain old household bleach 50/50 with water in a sprayer to break up the stains, then give it a good wash with palmolive detergent. I have heard not to use bleach, but it works, and never hurt the gelcoat at all. Still shines like new.

Wax coating the first of each year with a good marine wax.

For stubborn stains, Magic Eraser works great! Just do not rub hard on really shiny surfaces with it.
