I think they are talking about the Big Bend in Texas... Matagorda and Corpus Christi
This time of year early late and night are always good... but I think that has more to do with heat than them getting smarter.

I can go along with that story. I've been out there at night sometimes when you almost have push the big Trout and Reds out of the way with the handle of the gig just to get to the species that are legal to stick.
