My fishing partner caught these two fish last week in State Waters while we were grouper fishing, can anyone identify them? I'm thinking one is some sort of porgy and I thought the second was a toadfish, but am not sure.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Two Mystery Fish
In 1998, NASA sent the Oyster toadfish into space to investigate the effects of microgravity on the development of otolithic organs. The study found little difference between terrestrial development and those in space.

I always called the second on a mother-in-law fish.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

They are Porgys. I think they are good eating. Some folks say too many bones, No more bones than a Bream. These are the ones I caught Saturday at Keaton.
