St. Marks 7/8

Put in at the light house around 9am.. Fished near the bird rack and caught a small trout and bullhead. Headed east of the light house till I got in 5' to 6' and set a drift. Here I caught some more trout, a couple of lady fish, some more bullhead and a couple sharks.

Total:
9 trout w/2 keepers at 15" (let go cause I didn't feel like cleaning two fish)
2 sharks
2 ladyfish
4 bullheads

The bite was slow all day. Did run into a lot of floating grass east of the light house in 5' to 6' of water. Got off the water at 1pm cause the storm was heading right for St. Marks. Better luck next time.

I went out after the storm "around 5:30" and found no Trout, 1 Lady and 1 very hungry 6 or 7 foot shark "put my Zebco 888 to shame" :-D

Wevans, St.Marks

Wevans, last thurs. Carl and I went out on the west falts, out to the #3 stake and right off the channel and had some good fishing in water 8-10'. We got our limit and threw back a good number in the slot. Fished the incoming tide from 7 A.M. to 10:30, then it got too hot when the breeze stopped. We used top water plugs to catch the trout, caught some ladies and spanish on the pink tail white grub on 1/4 oz. red jig head.

I went out of Mashes Sands this morning and caught an almost 22 incher right of the bat :-D then things slowed down :( ended up catching 3 more Trout "two 18's and a 16" and a 20" Spanish "along with about 20 shorts" water temp was 79 when I started and 84 when I left at 11:30, could not see bottom in 2 foot of water :-? all fish where caught in 4 to 6 foot of water "during the transition from shallow to deep". It was to rough to throw a top water, worked the CT from three foot to five foot and bounced the jig off bottom in the deeper stuff   Saw several Sharks "some bigguns to" and a lot of Blues and Ladies. Also went exployering and found a 43 foot hole within a mile of the Tripod :o
