slacking on reports....but so many good memories

Post by SHOWBOAT »

The last month has kept me pretty busy with EOQ at work, the 4th, etc. Despite all that, I've managed to squeeze in several fishing trips with some of my favorite fishing partners. I've had to opty to cover a lot of water extending from Taylor to Gulf Counties. The one trip I'm missing pics of is the HHA event where I had the chance to fish my wife and an angler we've fished with in previous years. All fish below were caught on topwaters, except for Atticus' trout, which ate a jerkbait. Thanks to my friends for all the good fishing trips over the past month....is it Saturday yet?

My dad's Birthday was celebrated in SJB. I stopped by JSuber's house on the way there to pick up a birthday kayak

After that Atticus, Matt and I headed to Taylor County. We gave my boat a rest, and took Matt's to explore the newly tented water following Debbie

For the 4th Matt and I prefished the Classic in Franklin County

I fished the Classic with Skeeter-Bite, and he managed a third place trout while my tackle was being abused by reds that couldn't be weighed. Congrats Buddy!

Thanks again to my partners. For those of you who are waiting on the water to clear up, the storm and heat haven't seemed to deter the bite. Go get 'em
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Way to go, great month. I'm surprised how good the fishing has been despite the heat and stained water. See y'all on the water sat and sun.

:smt005 :smt005 :smt005 That is the size you sent them to me.

Got a couple more days on the water this weekend. Saturday we found a couple boat limits of scallops at Saint Marks before retiring to the sandbar. Passed TallyKenJ in the channel on our way in. Sunday morning we fished Lanark. Some of the nicest slot fish we've found in a while, but no really big girls. Hit up Posey's at Rock Landing for a burger and a  on the way home.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
