You think you hooked that red, but it sounds like he hooked you! Outstanding spots too. The first of many.

He should be ashamed, all that fishing he's always doing and you have to paddle a canoe? Tom, take a girl fishing dude! Especially your sister !
I think every fish I catch is unforgettable until I catch the next one and realize I've forgot the one I just caught and can't wait until I catch the next one. The one that really sticks is the big ones that get off!
I haven't been in awhile but I heard the bugs were terrible from the rain. Were they killing you up next to the bank ? I think, you might be eatin alive at Econfina!

I actually like the canoe! Its way cheaper on gas , and you can go more places than you can with a boat, in shallow inshore water that is. I've been pretty much catching trash fish all summer, except for a couple decent flounder here and there, so that fish will be unforgettable! My time growing up I spent with my dad and pawpaw in freshwater, catching bream and bass. I've just gotten into saltwater fishing this spring and summer, and I'm pretty much hooked!
And yes, the bugs near shore are really bad, thats why we didnt paddle up into some of the creeks, just fished in the mouths, 50 feet up the creek and we were back out to the open. Even with bug spray they were makin breakfast out of us!

Awesome catch!

Man....I was gonna launch the kayak there at the bridge Sunday morning.....but went to lanark instead.
Never got a single bite.

A few weeks back we did really well there at the ock bridge............apparently there are still some fish there. Lol.

Wtg on a beautiful red!
