Yep, I was there on Saturday. My family and I were looking forward to it all week. However, the weather didn't seem as if it was going to cooperate. On Friday, we thought Sunday was going to be the better of the two days so we started to adjusting plans. We were going to take some friends with us, too. We woke up Saturday morning and saw that it looked pretty nice outside. I started checking various weather sites around 7:30 and found they weren't matching up. Shortly after 8:00, they started to match up. We called our friends and planned to be at Sheilds by 9:30. We went east at made three stops in the area of Grey Mare. The weather was perfect and the water was clearer than expected. We left with about 10 gallons. We couldn't have wished for a better day!

We hope to be out there again next weekend. :lick:

Took the family on Saturday. Put in at the Fort around 8 and got our limit cleaned by lunch and enjoyed the great weather. Found them on three stops in 4 ft.

Got a limit around Rock Garden in about 3 hours. I am no good at finding them, so it was really my two buddies picking up my slack. We didn't really get into them really good, and found it harder going when the tide started pushing the grass over, but we had a good time. I did learn that the Reel Legends UPF shirts are not a substitute for sunscreen.

Me and the wife went out and gout 1 pint cleaned. That was all that we wanted to clean. They were not really easy to find but not too hard either.

Lonesouth...I have not had an issue with the RL shirts protecting me. That is all that I wear out not since they are cheaper than the Columbia shirts.

Thanks for the input. I did take it off for about 30 minutes, but I didn't think that was near enough time to get as red as I was.

Lonesouth, 30 minutes with the back completely flat, wet, and exposed directly to the sun plenty of time to get burned this time of year when scalloping, unless you've got really dark skin/lots of melanin to begin with.

I'm with HewesMan... never gotten burned scalloping with RL (or Columbia) shirt on. However, even with sunblock applied, have gotten burned without shirt... standard operating procedure to keep one on at all times now.

No, had the shirt on 100% in the water, only when chilling on the boat under the bimini, and later when washing the boat at the house. I suspect that was the worst of it, cleaning, now that I think of it.

I need to remember that the sun can be sneaky...I'll give the RL shirts another shot.

Their shorts are very comfortable too. I think that I got the bonefish shorts. They are very lightweight and just feel good.

When the tide pushed the grass over we moved out to 5-6ft of water and it wasn't laying over. Easy peasy.
