St, Johns River Fishin' Trip

Post by mjsigns »

My brother and his family went to "Green Cove Springs" south of Jacksonville last month and they went and hired a fishin' guide. They fished for trout using live finger mullet under a bobber. Needless to say they caught some real "River-Monster" Trout. During the 1/2 day trip, they caught a mess of fish, however the guide only allowed them to kept three fish, two well over 22" and one 19.5", the rest were released unharmed. My brother took a few picutes and I just wanted to share them with y'all. Other than that I don't have any other "secrets" they used....

I didn't get an invite or anything, just pictures via email a month after the trip ... :smt012

Nice fish. Never heard of a guide not letting you keep fish.

The guide told them that they were catching the females, and they were full of roe, so they were released. My brother didn't seem care. :D They had enough fish for a feast for three people.
