General Beach Fishing Tips????

Stupid damn yankee is coming to visit for a week in mid-August. How is the beach fishing during that time? What's biting? What are they biting on? I love to fish and am not particular about what I catch. I want to have some fun with my son (6 years old)and see our rods bend.

Can anyone give a little advise?

What beach will you be visiting? That makes a difference with tactics. BTW August is probably the worst month for inshore fishing in these parts.

Oh I don't know, there's a pretty good run of sailcats in August.
