So, hit the water at 7:15 a.m. Stayed out until about 2:30. Weather was awesome, except for absolutely no wind. Glass and hot. So much for rain chances. Great day on the water! Can't wait until next weekend. :D

Well.... Went to Patty's Island and poked around. I think we missed the bite there this morning. We planned on meeting our neighbors who were spending their weekend at their Shell Point place. We hooked up with them out a ways in about 20' of water. The Spanish Mackerel schools were absolutely crazy! Breaking water all over the place. So, we landed six (more than enough) in no time. There was another boat out there that landed a 36" Red hanging out with the Mackerel. So, we decided we would hang out there for a while and drop some shrimp in the hopes of finding another big Red. No red, but I landed a really good size spanish on 15 lb braid. It was a fight and Ken thought the line would break. Got him to the boat though. Needless to say, making smoked fish dip tonight. Awesome day out there and ready to go tomorrow! Ken will post some pics later. He's a site sponsor and can post them. I don't know how to upload them send a link. He's an IT guy and knows how, but he's outside cleaning fish! :lick:

Ol' Rainman (Jeff) and I went out today, afternoon trip. Managed three reds, 19 on a jig, 27 on a pin under a float, and a 25 on topwater. Tossed back the 19 (not a fan of keeping shorties) and tossed back the 27 (too risky, though I'm sure it would've shrunk on ice). Kept the 25 that came off a chartreuse top dog jr. We moved around a bit and it's like the bite just completely shut off on us. Headed in at 5 w/ half a dozen boats at the ramp waiting to load. Just overall great day on the water with SUCCESS AT ST MARKSSSSS

Was planning on going today, best laid plans...be out there at first light tomorrow. Hope it's not a repeat of last Saturday, barely made it back to ramp in time. Good luck and see you out there!

St. Marks is getting blasted right now. Very strong winds, lightning, and sideways rain. You might want to take your time getting down here today. Sitting in the car trying to wait it out. Repeat of last Saturday, got to our spot watch plug getting blown up and then....BOOM, lightning stikes instead of fish. We got back just in time and put boat on trailer just as bad stuff hit. Radar shows it passing soon as long as others dont pop up. Looks like one over in PC heading this way.
