rod guide repair

anyone have any good recommendations on someone that can rewrap some eyes ?i have a couple rods needing a few rewrapped.

Dang Jim, I think if I spent that much on a rod and an eye broke, I'd take it back. I know loomis doesn't guarantee guides, but they will replace a rod when the blank breaks for any reason( hint hint). Good luck.

The guides were 4 millimeters in diameter. My leader knot was getting hung in the guides causing them to break or be pulled out. I spoke to the folks I bought the rod from and we agreed that Loomis would repair the rod at no charge, but they would put in the same guides that I was having trouble with. After giving it a little thought I decided that I really, really like the action, weight, and strength of this rod and it would be amazing with larger guides. I also decided that I really hate the placement of the hook keeper. So I had it moved to the underside of the split handle while I was having the guides replaced.
I used this rod this past weekend and was perfectly pleased with the results. It casts much better than it ever did and the hook keeper placement was just what it needed to make me happy with this rod. Sometimes you CAN improve on perfection.

Michael, if you go to mudhole.com you might find a video that shows how to rewrap the guides, if not maybe utube. It's a really simple fix, with gas being what it is, may save you a couple of bucks.
