WHOSE FISH IS IT?
Re: Divers on the boat that sank a couple weeks
I'm in the wrong business. I should have been in the marine salvage business. I'd take a bunch of tanks and bladders and strapping down there and bring that puppy back to the surface and hopefully get it to float again.....

Yep, and you might wanna spray a little WD-40 on the wiring and motors when you get it back floating....mjsigns wrote:I'm in the wrong business. I should have been in the marine salvage business. I am betting a raw water or bilge connection somewhere below the water line was the culprit. Then again, could have been the plug left out. I watched a 25 footer sink at the dock because of that at Rock Landing a few years back. The fork operator asked the kid there if he plugged it, and the kid said "I know I did". Guess what, when the fork lift raised it up, water was pouring out the drain plug hole. Plug was in the bilge where they had left it when it was put in storage.
Oops!
It happens fast at a point too. When we walked up to the boat, the water was just breaching the transom at the motor. By the time we got back and found the fork operator, it was under to the level of the top of cabin door. I can see where they had very little time.

Looks like they got a pistol, wallet, and a sink sprayer. Are they just pillaging the thing because they can?? If so why not take those rod, reels, and tanks too? If they are retrieving items for the owner, why the sink sprayer??? I don't get it.

Re: Divers on the boat that sank a couple weeks
The reason for cutting the sink sprayer was to take something to prove he had found it and it was now his salvage. The owner of the boat had asked these divers out of Tampa to retrieve the wallet and gun. This salvage diver had contracted this dive with the insurance company.
That was the info I got on the dock at C-Quarters with the owner of the boat.
