Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
Add to that list FSU losing tonight too. Dang.
That was a total embarrassment for the Dawgs. We have way too many games where we show up completely unmotivated, remain unmotivated, and no adjustments are made. That's a coaching problem. It makes me wonder if Richt has gone back to his "no-hit" practices.

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
Truly NOT trying to rub any salt in Dawg fans' wounds saying this, but the Gamecocks played some solid ball on both sides of the line that truly earned them the win tonight.
NOT a fan of Spurrier's personality and don't look to ever take him out aboard Marine's Dreams or become close drinking buddies, but his offensive play calling early in the game had the GA defense scrambling each play to figure out whether Lattimore was crashing their way, Shaw was running to the outside for long quarterback scrambles, or Shaw was throwing into the secondary. As for Murray's tough night, think all of us would struggle to put up good numbers if playing opposite sides of the ball from Jadeveon Clowney... kid's a true beast. They didn't block him well at the start and when they tried shifting double coverage his way they found out he's not the only defensive talent Carolina has.
And none of this is rooster crowing from this Gamecock fan... pretty sure LSU is going to be ON FIRE to log a victory back home next week. Follow that game with a trip to the Swamp and games against Tennessee, Arkansas, and Clemson, and they better play just as dayum tough every single game if they're to have a chance of competing for even the SEC east title. Think they well might find that top 5 rankings are a tough thing to protect.

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
My Dawgs got whipped on both lines of scrimmage. I've been concerned about our O line, but I really thougtht our D line could get the job done. I can't stand Spurrier, but my hat is off to him, he is one hell of a coach.
The Dawgs were all excited and ready to play ... they thought, but I think they were over confident and read their press clippings and looked at the score of the USC v Vandy game.
I am very dissapointed with the lack of preparation by our coaching staff.

Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!
Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
For all the Dawg fans, just take a look at Spurriers record against Ga. at the Swamp. I know some of the fans at Ga. will be calling for the firing of the coach but what will you be getting to replace him? Spurrier just had his team better prepaired, and the rest of the SEC better be prepaired when they play him. By the way, I am not a fan of Spurrier, he just knows how to get the best from his players.

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
Spurrier's game plan of "ball control" using his super star running back, kept the ball out of Georgia's hands and don't take anything away from USC's defense...
I don't like Spurrier, but he has always been a good coach. Georgia just got beat because they couldn't stop the "run". Now FSU got beat because they flat got out coached, Jimbo blew that game!! He is a terrible coach, much like Mike Martin...

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
From the foothills of SC about half-way between Greenville and Columbia, and father is a Carolina grad so went to many home season games throughout my child-hood, making me a big fan, even if my youth included some tough years (did get to see George Rogers do some beautiful running thoughSalty Gator wrote:BBG, I thought you were a Furman grad, that pulled for FSU( or pulled against UF). Ended up going to Furman, thus the reason I pull for the Paladins, though honestly after the school left the Batpist denomination behind, it changed a bit, turning artsy-fartsy and with a really weird infatuation with Indian-Asian philosophy, shipping a Japanese shrine to campus and doing some other funky things too... like the faculty trying to block "W" from speaking at graduation until the students protested to HAVE him, ending up with a handful of professors standing with their backs turned and protest t-shirts on.
Younger brother left the state to go to FSU and I became a FSU fan then. Moving here back in 2002 just made me like the Noles even more. No ifs ands or buts about it though, FSU plays against South Carolina I'm pulling for the Gamecocks, though with very little to celebrate in the past. Used to hate Clemson, but long as they aren't playing FSU or Carolina, actually like to see them do well too.

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
1: Second half defense was dumbed down. Same pass play after play and they could not catch on!
2: Jimbo musta read some rule that in the second half FSU could not pass the ball. 1-3 yard runs up the middle just did not cut it.
The way we played the second half, we deserver the loss.

Re: FOOTBALL WEEKEND
Ditto on Double's comments, additionally, JimBo lost his cool and the whole FSU team followed suit, that coupled with a couple poor call's on the officials really crapped it off for FSU. There will be another meeting and the Seminoles "will remember" this game, and there will be pay-back time for the Noles next meeting of the two in the future. That was a repeat of defeats 2003, 2005, and now 2012 Hated seeing them loose, but that is one of the "hard knocks" that FSU needed to get their heads back to reality of their game....Double wrote

Hats off to the Gators! Them boys "put it on" in the Swamp whipping LSU.
Time is the most precious commodity we have in life, stay focused.
