Dog Island Reef Saturday!

Post by Bonecracker »

Took the maiden voyage in my new to me 2006 Pathfinder 2200V on Saturday to Dog Island Reef, one of my favorite places to fish. The GF and her two kids came along and we went in search of a pull on our line!! I set the rods up with CT and 1/4oz jigs with white GULP and we went to lookin for the usually easy to find spec trout and maybe a big redfish. After 1+ hours of very little action I was getting the this better improve look from the crew as I did not what a mutiny on board!! We keep moving around DIR and finally found some clear broken bottom in 3-5ft of water and the corks started diving under! Threw out a marker and caught a few more specs when we found the Trout honey hole! Dropped the Powerpole and we had constant action on Sand/White/Spec trout for over 2 1/2 hours! Did not keep count but we easily caught over 60 trout. Wound things up around 3:00 and was headed back to the ramp with a cooler full of fish and a great maiden voyage!! :D :D :D

bc, cool way to break in the pathfinder. You forgot one thing that would have made the story - YOU'RE supposed to take the picture - GF's/wives must be included in all BBF pictures in order to post (just not at the same time).

It must be in the board rules somewhere I'm certain...

Awesome rig for that part of the world. Inshore and light offshore in style and comfort. Pathfinder/Yamaha combo will produce years of fun. Congrats.

Have to say the folks at Lanark are the best! The past ower of this Pathfinder had told me that there was a small power draw if you left the battery switch on. I cranked the motor Friday evening and forgot to turn the battery switch off!! When we dunked the boat Saturday AM I went to crank her up and nothin!! Luckly the guy putting in behind us had a Quicker Jumpers and the engine fired right up. We left her runnin for 45 min to charge the batteries and had no other problems after that. :-D

Just realized that poor little ole Spec I am holdin was the first fish I ever caught on that boat! Got to start some-where!! LOL!!

You need to find that short, if you drained 2 batteries over night it is not small.

Nice looking boat and glad you got the first fish out of the way.

Jim
