St. Marks 10.27.2012

Post by mjsigns »

Made it down to the Fort today despite the harsh wind forecast. Got down to the mouth of the river (rough ride) and was greeted by 2’s and an occasional 3’, winds 15-20 relatively consistent out of the north east. Water temps in the river were about 71.5, in front of the lighthouse it was closer to 72. Water clarity 12-15”, but way too choppy. Took my new best friend with me, meet “Bailey”. She got sea sick and tossed her cookies, but quickly cleaned it up. She hung in there for the next three hours. No bites except for the pins, still too choppy for us both.

Your dog is awesome, way to get after the fish despite the weather, your NOLES are over rated. :-D

She is a Lab for sure. I Baptized her yesterday in Front of the Lighthouse. She is now boat broken, now if we can get her house broken and fully trained she'll be a great dog. My other dog "Kippy" is getting too old to go out on the boat, so Bailey will be my faithful partner on the boat. Yes that is a dog - "Life Preserver", it even has reflective material in the stripes.

Pretty dog! If she's like my old lab Katie was, it will be hard to keep her IN the boat. That dog loved a boat ride but she loved swimming even more.
