I have it in here Tampa and Jacksonville. But haven't really had any luck besides boat dealers offering consignment deal and what not. Has anyone tried that before. Don't no if its worth trying. I need it gone asap and don't want it sitting at a dealership for months and months. Even though its basically doing the same thing at my house just sitting..

Dealers can get more for it than you can, there is something psychological about people accepting a higher price from a dealer. Depending on their cut, it might be worth a shot if you find a dealer you can trust. I sold one that way once and after the dealer's cut I actually pocketed what I was asking in the classifieds. (pre Craigslist days)

Mine sold in the spring which has always been the best time to sell a boat, this is a hard time of year to sell one.

Took 2 weeks but then again it was in June. If you can hold off, you'll come out much further ahead.

A good friend just bought a boat down south from a broker. He got the deal he was looking for and I guess the seller got what he needed. I just think with something that is hard to move a broker will be able to cover more terrritory than we as sellers are able to or are willing to. Good luck, hope you get it sold.

Yeah if I new I would have to buy as bigger truck I would have sold it earlier but it just kinda snuck up on me and now I'm in need of a bigger truck with 4wheel drive and being 24 with no credit its not so easy to go buy one without just paying for it straight up. Looks like I will probably end up not getting it sold this year I no boats dontnsell in the winter but I got to keep trying. Thanks for all the advice I will look into the dealer thing and see how that works out for me.

These folks are very reputable and may be worth a shot. I think you pay a listing fee and that's it from what I know of their operation.

Shields Marina in St. Marks sells boats on consignment and I'm sure others would as well. They would take a percentage of the sale price and it might take awhile to move it as the normal boating season winds down.

Your best bet is to sell yourself if you can. Try BoatTrader.com if you haven't already. They have regional editions that will reach larger audiences. That style boat would work well in Louisiana, Georgia and the Carolinas.

No i haven't tried boat trader yet. I saw that it costs like 100-200 bucks and just figured if I'm gonna pay money I might as well pay am dealer and let them deal with it all
