Your not from around here are you :o

Kite string, piece of chicken or fish....Tie string to meat, fling it out far as you can throw it.....Pull it in slowly, sometimes let it sit a little....Crabs will latch on it and you can generally net them before they will let go....Note, generally...Yeah you need a crab net too.....

Good family fun and a a way to get eaten up by sand gnats :o

one slight modification can be made to Chalk's excellent instructions.... 8) short stick..5ft or so....tie 10 ft aprox string on to stick with raw chicken neckback. Plunge stick into bottom in aprox 2-3 ft of water at about a 45%-50% angle. throw string with bait out and watch for movement in slack. Pull in crab slowly and position net under crab. Lift both at the same time. Transfer crab to a wire basket in the water next to you or cooler with ice. Return bait to water, sit back down in old lawn chair next to stick and get mentally ready for the next one. If your really industrious you can add multiple rigs. One of the best activities you will ever find for youngsters! :thumbup:Image

I cancelled a grouper trip today due to the forcasted rough seas. Noticed this afternoon NOAA is now saying 2-3' seas with 10 mph SE wind. Man, I could kick a weather man's tail right now.

If it makes you feel any better, birddog - A friend of mine said he had to fish inside Dog Island around 10am (26ft boat) Saturday 'cause outside was 4' and more.

I dunno.
