Lake Jackson 8/3/04

Post by brunner2178 »

Went early morning to Lake Jackson. Put in the boat at the end of crowder landing. The Lake has dropped considerably since about three weeks ago. We caught a total of 9 fish, the biggest going at about 2lbs. All these fish were caught on zoom super flukes shad colors(in the early morning hours) and zoom texas riggeg junebug worms after the sun was up. The hydrilla is rampant in the part by crowder, and more than likely in other parts of the lake as well.

Boat

Fishman, I was able to put my 17'6" bass rig in. I ran ONLY the trolling motor. It is also very wise to have a 4wd pickup for the ramp (it's sand).
In retropspect, I would not have put it in if I knew the middle part of the lake was as shallow as it was. I put in there 3 weeks prior and it was a whole lot deeper. It has gone down quite a bit. I don't think it's worth the trouble as of now to put a bigger boat in. Hopefully that will change in the near future. Hope this helps a lil bit.
