Cajun anchor

Post by RHTFISH »

Well, gave my new cajun anchor a workout at Econfina from
about 3am till daylight last Saturday. I was surprised how simple and efficient it works unless over shell bar. Anywhere on sand and mud bottom it held my 17 wide skiff without a problem in wind and tide.
I have the 5 foot model and used it at depths up to about 4 feet. I attached it to my front cleat where I could work rope with only about 2-3 feet of slack.
Nice feature is retrieving it without worry of mud and debris coming into boat. I didn't try "throwing" it but simply pushed it into bottom. While running it fit nicely into my horizontal rod rack.
Now that I have seen firsthand how it works I think I would purchase the
longest model (6') if I were buying, regardless of boat length.

Anyone else use one????
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
