Lighting is my forte. I had HID's mounted on the front of my 1436. I'll most likely be going LED on my new boat. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Nice man! How much did the hids run? I'm looking for some on my truck and boat.

Get with Kenny out of Crawfordville. These are what alot of the Airboaters are going with and I've seen alot of them on the front of pickups.

Oreillys has them for about $75 per light. Ballast is self contained. All you do is hook up power and ground.

LED's will operate on much less power and cooler and a thirty year life span...
Re: pics of led/hid/halogen fog lights
What CT said. LED's draw way less current, are a lot more rugged than HID, and last forever. A pair of 35 watt HID's (about 4000 lm per light) draw about 12-14 amps on start up and as they warm up, they drop to about 8-10 amps. They're also heavier than an LED light of the same size because of the ballast module. LED's are typically housed in a lightweight aluminium housing, but will cost you a pretty penny. I bought a 20" LED bar for the front of my truck that cost $600. I'll try to find the link for the HID's.

Here's the Amazon link. I was way off on price. Still cheaper than an LED bar though.

Yea man I'm gonna stick with LEDs! What lumen should I look for? I've seen a few 2500 but nothing more. Unless you pay 200+.mbweimar wrote:Here's the Amazon link. I was way off on price. Still cheaper than an LED bar though.

DDMTuning.com sells light bars. Dont know anything about the quality but, but the price is right. They also come from CHINA too

Re: pics of led/hid/halogen fog lights
Haha ^ so what lumen should I look for? I want something with brightness around 6000-8000k hid color
Re: pics of led/hid/halogen fog lights
Pretty much all LED auxiliary lighting that I've seen is roughly 6000K. Anything more than that looks cheesy IMO. Also doesn't put out as much usable light. I'm doing some research now on lighting for my new boat. I'll let you know what I find.

thanks man! So 2500 lumen is good and will put off a good amount of light?mbweimar wrote:Pretty much all LED auxiliary lighting that I've seen is roughly 6000K.
