sorry for the late report but better late than never right! we started the day off by fishing some scattered patchy areas in aprx. 4 feet, water temp was around 64 degrees. picked up a nice trout that was lost at the boat within 5 min. we continued to fish similar areas for the next few hours with not much success. 1 decent keeper 19.5 and some shorts. we did manage 2 nice flounder both around 18in. we stopped and fished a few deeper areas 6-10 ft with nothing doing. so we decided to head further north in around some oyster bars about 2 ft and noticed the water was a lot darker. we stuck it out in that area for another hour or so with only a short trout to show for. we did however see a few reds. with the darker water we again decided to make another move back to the clearer water. by this time the tide had moved in so we pushed up into a creek(72 degrees). this move payed off with several tout(only 1 keep) and a few small reds. as it started to get time to head home we fished on the outside shoreline of the creek and i smacked 2 decent reds on back to back casts with a redfish magic spinner. we fished artificail baits all day, mostly jigs. we also tried suspending plugs and topwater with no luck. overall any day you finish with an inshore slam its nothing to compain about but we really had to work for them that day. pics coming soon
Thanks for the report -- i am planning a trip on Thursday or Friday...
I want to scout out some of the creeks and the tide will be incoming so i don't get caught up in one!!
Tourney day can't come quick enough... I wish I had more success when we were down there. Gotta look at the positive side. I found out what not to throw at em... HA!
