Shell Point 3/16 - 3/17
Fished early Saturday before the wind kicked up too badly and managed one keeper and 3 shorts fishing soft plastics in 2-5 feet of water. Tried Saturday afternoon with a buddy and the kids, but the wind made it no fun so we quit early. Sunday morning was better with 5 shorts, 2 keepers, and a boatside release of a 20"+ pretty trout. The bite was kind of timid like they were just grabbing the bait rather than really eating it. Fish came on white, white/chartreuse, and fire tiger. Sunday afternoon we had a 3 year old catch her first two trout and her older sister also caught one, but we threw them back "because they weren't big enough". Fun trip. Sounds like we should have been at Ecofina.

Way to go! Start them fishing early. A trip she will always remember. I'd say it was a good'un!
Thanks!

Luc and I had a pretty good trip in the area early weekend, maybe he'll post some pics. Encountered a big red, maybe 35" in distress, swimming belly up just off Live Oak Island. We tried to revive/save her, but don't think we helped. Little sad end to a good trip.
