Cedar Key

Post by JIm Smith »

We made the first trip of the year to Cedar Key Sat. , went to the seahorse reef 1st looking for the reported SMackeral but gave after two hours . Went to the outside of Snake Key about two miles and started catching 14 inch specs moved ioo yards and got into the sand trout average of 1 # until we got tired. water temp was 6o to 61 degrees on the reef and in the flats. Sand Trout saved the day

  Good trip. Those sand trout have saved my butt many a trip. They eat good, too.

Gotta love Cedar Key! Probably just a tad early on SeaHorse but there are a few around. In a couple of weeks it'll be on fire for the macs.
