Went out with Roadtrip Friday and Saturday and made a wide sweep of what the area had to offer. Went to the State line on Friday and saw very little bottom activity. Caught a couple of Sheephead and a few BSB but no grouper at all. We did catch the FWC man trolling the border. He was extremely nice and found no violations but he made himself very clear that they would be out in full force through the season.
Saturday was an inshore day around the bars and the mouth of the Ocklocknee. Caught a few trout but nothing to write home about or worth getting a picture of. Fished shallow and deep with live shrimp and jerk baits.
We did see some birds diving on glass minnows so its getting about time for the fishing to pick up. The freshwater was gone from the river mouth but still very tanic.
