St. Joe Bay

Post by ugadawg »

While down at the beach for spring break, I decided to take my boat and do a little fishing in the bay. Tuesday had little wind, smooth seas, sunny sky, and I caught a stomach bug. Awesome start to the week. :smt010

Wednesday was rainy with thunderstorms predicted later in the day, but we decided to try it as long as it wasn't windy. Go out on the bay for a few hours in the rain and managed 7 trout, a spanish, and a flounder.

The weather for Thursday was forecast to be thunderstoms all day, but the weather turned to the south and we were able to get out for a few hours right before it got dark. Ended up with 7 trout from 17 to 22 and had a nice trout dinner.

Water temp was 69, so the spring bite should be getting started.

New Penny on the grass flats behind black island is where we caught them. 3 ft was the depth we had the best luck with.
