Econfina - Thursday

Post by Dubble Trubble »

We got a late start, my Fiance and I, and arrived at a windy landing around noon. Out on the water and surprised the wave action was not too bad. Went East and on the first few casts, over 20 inch trout! Looking like a great day. Drifted FAST and picked up another keeper, then the bite stopped.

Decided to go out in deeper water (we had been in 5 ft). Drifted and picked up another nice fat 19.5 incher. Then it happened...Spanish hitting everything we threw out. Between the cutoffs and rebaits, we put a 20 inch and an 18 inch spanish in the cooler.

Headed back in closer to hunt for trout and only picked up one more the rest of the evening. Had 2 NICE ones spit it out at the boat :smt010 By that time, the wind had layed down and the water had calmed a bit.

Back to the landing around 7:15 and we were the only vehicle there. 4 nice trout and 2 spanish. :lick:

Water temps were 74-78 and the weather was perfect!

Great day on the water with my Gal!

That wasn't such a bad day. Sounds like if you had fished earlier you would have caught the limit.

Thanks for the report!
