Decided to head down with a boat full on Friday to hopefully miss the rain and wind that was scheduled for Saturday. We were fishing by 8:45 and water temperature was 78 degrees. Wind was howling around 20-25 knots but we had planned this trip for 2 months and would not be deterred. It ended up being a good decision because we picked up 11 keeper trout on our first drift. We rounded off the boat limit by 1100 and were out of the wind for the day. We caught most of the fish on live shrimp. We caught a few on paul brown suspended baits and very few on gulp. Fish seemed to be in 4-5 feet of water.
Saturday was a different animal. Poured down until 8:00 and air temp had dropped to 52 degrees. We nearly froze riding out. Bite had dropped off dramatically as water temp dropped into the 60s. We managed to pick up 12 keepers fishing hard all day. The spanish were active and we ended the trip with 12.
