Willis' moogan trout

Post by grouperlips »

Day 1, left the lighthouse before light and headed east into a stiff wind. Quickly boated a fat 22'' 4.5lb trout on topwater. Caught and realeased several quality slot trout, numerous blue fish, and lost a good red. Tide fell out pretty bad, but we managed a couple slot reds and released them for another day. Finally late in the day as the full tide came in I landed a 26 3/4 6.7 red in a creek.

Day 2, headed out before light Sunday to try some new shoreline on the early high tide with slick water. Managed to catch and release a couple smaller slot reds and trout early on, and then big mama slurped down the spook. After Willis set the hook and we saw the beasts' tail we knew it was a goodun. After some hard head shakes and a couple fast runs she came in close to the boat for me to whiff with the net first try and then she dove towards the prop. She finally came up beside the boat again and with one swift net job she was laying in the boat. Let the celebrations begin!!! We had a 26 3/4 6.13lb "moogan trout" for the Rock the Dock weigh in.

Thanks to the Mitchell family and all of the sponsors for another awesome year of Rock the Dock!!

My bad.
Some of their weights are posted in hundredths of a pound.
I assumed they used the same scale for all weights.

congrats. Does anyone have the final results? The webpage still shows 2012 results.
