Links dont open new pages.
This might be tough to describe, but it's something I noticed a couple weeks ago.
When somebody posts a link in a forum post, clicking the link takes the CURRENT page and transports you to that link destination.
Like right now, if I posted a link to http://www.google.com and you clicked on it, this page would "go away" and Google would load.
In all of the other forums I spend time on, links either load new pages or new browser tabs parallel to the current one.
For example, lots of us here, I think, are members over at the Tallahassee Gun Forum.
If you go over to this thread and click on the link in the first post, your browser will launch a new tab (if you use a browser like Chrome or Firefox or even the newest version of Internet Explorer from MS.
I think it's something in how BBF has been coded to handle URLs.
I'm not a website creator guy, but I did a little looking around and it seems that these are classified as either "Internal" links or "External" links.
Here's an article about it.

Well sonofabitch...now I'm even more confused. All those links i just posted in my example thread appear to be "external" links like I am trying to describe. Standby.

Re: Links dont open new pages.
Maybe it's just youtube videos that open as internal links.
Testing.

Yeah, see - if you click my youtube link it opens internally.
It's annoying because my tendency is to close tabs when I am done viewing something - not hit the back button, but what ends up happening is that I close the tab that had BBF in it, and I have to reload the page from the front.
Anyway...just a small thing...

Re: Links dont open new pages.
Ummm, why not just simply right click on the link, and click "open in new window". Problem solved!

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.
Re: Links dont open new pages.
Of course I know how to work around it - but it seems silly to have to.
Why should Youtube links behave differently than literally, every other link on the site?
Like I said, it's a tiny issue; but it's an issue none the less.
Dig it?
Anyway, Bevis knows about it now - maybe he can address it with his web guru.
