My 1st Inshore Slam 5/20

Post by ontiltttttt »

Got out of class early @ FSU so my buddy and I decided to head over to Panacea to drop a few lines in the water. We got there during the falling tide and I was able to net some mullet and bull minnows. Armed with my Penn Slammer 260 and a Gulp Shrimp on a jig head, we waded out onto the sand bar and I was able to get my first inshore slam (trout, redfish, flounder); all keepers. On the last cast of the day, my buddy hooked and landed a 25+ lb stingray that he fought with his 2000 series Shimano Stradic for a good 15 minutes. Weather was great, water temperature was nice; I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Congrats on the slam, not a bad way to spend the day. I go to fsu as well and often find myself doing the same thing when i get the oppurtunity. It seems as though panancea has been producing pretty well as of late. I went out saturday in the yak for 2 1/2 hrs and snagged a couple reds and 3 nice trout before i was run off by a 6 foot bull shark looking to get a hold of my stringer. The biggest trout and red both measuring 24". Hopefully i can pull my 1st slam saturday before it gets too windy.
