PA I have a lot of problem with cramps in my legs, feet and hands. Those calf cramps leave me limping for a day or two. I even get them down in the middle of my ankle sometimes. The only thing I've found that helps is a product called Fibroplex. A doctor I used to see recommended it as well as a chiropractor I know. I order it online. It says the daily dose is two but be careful. I just take one every second or third day unless I'm cramping up bad. The magnesium in it can have some people pooping like crazy so build up slowly on it. I'll put a link below so you can check out the stuff if you want to. I didn't search around for the best price so do some checking before you order.
Hey Rhett have you had your potassium levels checked? Low potassium causes cramps and it also causes heart problems. Messes with the way the old ticker fires. They would not do surgery on me last year until I got my potassium levels up. Strawberries and baked potatoes have more potassium than bananas by the way .
Get some leg cramp pills over the counter from Wal Mart. They are reasonable in price considering what they do. Follow directions. They work for me and my wife.
Potassium levels were fine last time they checked. I eat bananas and strawberries on a regular basis. That doesn't seem to help me. The fibroplex works for me for some reason. I only take one every other day so a bottle of 120 lasts a long time for the $30 or so it costs. If I forget to take it I'll wake up flopping around the bed like a fish and desperately trying to get out of the covers to stand up and stretch it out and walk it off. A couple of times I've tumbled out of bed trying to stand up and stepped on Tater Chip the dog. The dog woke up in a panic jumping up under me and I'm in a panic trying to stand up. I'm sure it would have made a comical video.
HEY RHETTLEY, I APPRECIATE THAT INFORMATION. SEEMS LIKE EVERYTIME I OVER DO THINGS , LIKE 8 HOURS OF FISHING AND 4 HOURS TRAVELING TO GET THERE AND BACK, MOWING 30 ACRES WITHOUT STOPPING, ROTO-TILLING THE GARDEN AND NEARLY ANYTHING I DO THAT REQUIRES MUSCLE WORK, THAT NIGHT I GET CRAMPS, SOMETIME SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE NIGHT. I NEVER HAD ANY CRAMPS UNTIL I STARTED TAKING ALL THESE DRUGS THE DOC'S GIVE ME SINCE I HAD MY HEART ATTACK. UNTILL I TURNED 85 YRS OLD I NEVER TOOK ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATION, AND I NEVER HAD BEEN IN A HOSPITAL AS A PATIIENT, HAD TOO MANY BILLS TO PAY TO GET SICK. WE HAD 5 CHILDREN AND I HAD TO PUT IN ABOUT 20 HRS. A DAY TO RAISE THEM AND GET THEM EDUCATED, WE HAVE 3 CHILDREN THAT HAVE GOTTEN THEIR DOC'S DEGREES AND THE OTHER ONE IS A HYDRALIC ENGINEER, OUR MIDDLE SON DIED WHEN HE WAS 29 YRS . OLD WITH LUECHEMIA. WELL I ENDED UP GIVING A LIFE HISTORY, DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT.
