Ecofina sat 5/25/13 report

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:-D Not a lot to report. Got there at 7:30 and was treated to cold air and whitecaps.....I froze my butt off at first. Bob the builder, my son and I did not get the first fish in the box till 11:00. A solid thick 20" trout. I bet we only caught 20 fish all day, including shorts and little sea bass. The water this side of Rock island was surprisingly clear. It went slick calm around lunch and we even saw scallops on the bottom. Sort of met Redbelly out there. If you count talking to him on the radio and him following me around trying to catch my fish.... ;-) . Good talking to you hope you caught some more fish before you left. We wound up with 5 trout from 15-5 to 20" The water was 72-75 degrees all day. Lots of folks out there but not a lot of fish caught from the talk on the radio. :-D

Thanks for the report...Wish you'd have done better but sounds like enough to fry up anyway....I'll let you know how we do Monday. I'm not liking that predicted east wind for Monday :-?

Capt Hit I only got the one flounder that I caught on my first cast. I was good at finding short trout.

I was doing some "entitlement fishing" :-D But I did stay out yo drift

When I came in I talked to several all having a rotten day catching, except one. 2 fellas in a stick steer bote said they limited on trout and reds :o I did not see the fish, but he told me where.

............and...? Come on, tell it all! Might have been one of JT's holes?

We went out of Keaton Friday. On our fishing hole around 8:30 with our limit, two people, before eleven. All 17 - 19's. The New Penny with a double chart tail seemed to work good that day but caught trout on other bait as well. Threw several hard baits with not even a bump. Floating grass becoming bad. Didn't jig because wife was hot with the cork so switched over to it.

The cool air must have shut them down or cooled them off Saturday.

Thanks for the good reports.

Usually the best time to go fishing is when you cant go. I just have to go when I can and hope for the best. :-D
