The hull of the Seachaser doesn't look bad but could look better. The finish isn't chalky but doesn't really shine either. It's time for a wax. I'd prefer to take it to our forum member that details (can't think of name- sorry) but I need to save the money right now. I've been reading and the Collinite brand seems to get great reviews. I noticed Advanced Auto now carries COLLINITE 845 LIQUID INSULATOR WAX for about $15 a bottle. I've read the Insulator was is good and I've heard others say they prefer Collinite Fleetwax. I never really figured out what the difference was. Anybody use it with good luck or have another favorite?
Since the hull is a little dull but not chalky I'm assuming other than wash it with Dawn, I can get away with not doing anything before I wax it. A hand applied restorer is as far as I might attempt as long as it's fairly idiot proof. It's a fishing boat and not a show boat. I do want to put on a good durable wax to protect it and shine it up a little.
What brand do you recommend and any other tips are appreciated. The entire inside is non skid except for the center console. I use Starbrite with ptef on the non skid.
