Catching some fish....hoping for more...

Post by Ol' Linesider »

Hey gang, thanks for all the tips and info. Went out of Carabelle yesterday off o Dog Island, they guy in the bait shop said head out due East until you see a red tower and then fish for some bull reds. Never found the tower but drifted in about 16' of water and caught a small 2' 1/2 - 3' shark that was fun it was nice to hear the drag go out for a change. Kids fell asleep and I headed to the West end of DI and drifted the point on the ocean side -- my wife lit up with three lady fish and I caught a couple of small blues and some cats --

We had fun and cuaght some fish --

A copule of questions --

Some some folks fishing an old vessel of some sort on the west pass -- what lurks beneath that beast?

Anybody know what red tower he was talking about?

There is a red and white alignment marker on a tower a little east of the mouth of The Carrabelle River. There is good red fishing in that area. That's the only tower I'm aware of in that area.

The sunken vessel in East Pass is an old shrimp boat. It holds a veriety of fish different times of year. A lot of folks fish it during the colder months for sheeps head. No telling what you'll catch around a wreck.
What was I supposed to do today?

The red tower might be the red floating buoy marking the channel off the tip of Lanark reef. It's not much of a tower(small)but it would be due east, I think, and might catch those Reds coming in and out of the shallows.
Good luck, Fish Masterson
