Lanark/Apalachee Bay

Post by JeffB »

Well, this is the first fishing report I have ever posted.
Fished Lanark Sunday afternoon and Monday. On Sunday, we stayed in around Lanark reef. Caught lots and lots of short speckled trout. Never did catch a keeper on Sunday. Caught 4 white trout and this really big shark. My fishing buddy had a great time with him. It took him 35 minutes to get him to the boat so that we could take pictures.

We also caught ladyfish.
Monday morning we fished Dog Island Reef. Did have any luck except for sharks. Finally stopped fishing with our pilchards because the time they hit the water a shark had them.
Tuesday morning we fished Apalachee Bay. We managed 3 keeper speckled trout and 4 white trout. Caught a few short speckled trout and lady fish. The sharks were there too.

Thanks for the report- where were you picking up the pilchards... I have yet to see them near panacea.

We got the pilchards over at Dog Island. Didn't use them in Panacea. Tried to buy shrimp but the shrimp truck hadn't run yet that morning so we used gulps, topwater and ladyfish cutbait.
